The UK’s first and only black commercially licensed independent radio station founded by Patrick Berry and Neil Kenlock. Choice FM provided opportunities to UK and international artists, businesses, local community groups and charities who didn’t have a media outlet. During its 23 year tenure the radio station championed all genres of Black music, making global stars from R&B, Reggae, Dancehall and Soca from around the world.

The radio station has since been rebranded and known today as Capital XTRA since its buyout and full takeover by Global Radio Group in 2004.
